Long Team Training Run
March 30, 2008, 8:15 a.m.
Howard's House

The MGH Team will meet at Howard Weinstein's house (mile 20) located at 83 Sumner Street in Newton. The buses will depart at 8:30 a.m. and head to the Boston Marathon starting line in Hopkinton. It is a 30-minute ride. Howard will lead the run back to his house in Newton following the Boston Marathon route.

Team Pasta Dinner
April 20, 2008, 4:30 to 7 p.m.
Seaport Hotel, Boston

The MGH Pasta Party will be held for runners, patient partners, volunteers and families at the Seaport Hotel located at One Seaport Lane in Boston. Registration begins at
4:30 p.m. and a buffet style dinner will be served before the Patient Partner medal ceremony. We’ll have T-shirts for everyone who attends and we’ll validate your parking.

Marathon Day
April 21, 2008, 6:30 a.m.
Meet at Massachusetts General Hospital

Buses will depart from MGH at 6:30 a.m. on the corner of Parkman and Blossom Streets.  The bus will take the team to the usual MGH meeting spot, the parking lot of Hopkinton Pediatric Dental, located at 79 Hayden Rowe St. in Hopkinton. DJ Deja has kindly donated her time and will be there to play music and motivate our runners! We’ll also have healthy snacks and beverages there for you. Runners will start to walk over to the starting corrals as 10 a.m. approaches. The starting corrals are about a 10-minute walk from the dental office.

PLEASE NOTE:  Runners can leave their bags on our private bus that will depart immediately after dropping us off in Hopkinton and take our bags to Fitcorp located in the Prudential Center at 800 Boylston Street or you may drop off your bags on the BAA buses as we walk to the starting corrals. The BAA buses will be just beyond the finish line.

Marathon Day
April 21, 2008, all day
Mile 20 of the Marathon route

All families of runners are welcome to gather at mile 20 (Centre Street and Commonwealth Avenue in Newton Centre). This is 100 yards from Howard’s house at 83 Sumner Street where Patient Partners and their families will be meeting and cheering you on as well.  Food and drinks will be available. Face painting, Pedi the Bear and other activities will be happening. It is very important to slow down or stop at mile 20 to hug your patient partner or family member(s).

Marathon Day
April 21, 2008, 2 to 7 p.m.
Fitcorp

After the MGH runner's cross the finish line, you are welcome to walk over to Fitcorp. It is about a four-block walk. After you enter Fitcorp in the Prudential Center you will be directed to the locker rooms and food. Showers and towels will be available for your use. Volunteers will be there to assist you. Runner's families are invited into Fitcorp as well, beginning at 2 p.m. Food and beverages will be served by Boston Cafe and Catering. Complimentary masseuses and trainers will be there as well!

To walk to Fitcorp from the finish line, walk down Boylston Street, toward Mass. Ave, for about 1,000 feet. Fitcorp is located inside the Prudential Center at 800 Boylston Street.
An RSVP is needed for all Fitcorp attendees. Please RSVP by e-mailing Amy Flynn or calling her at 617-726-7837.

 

PLEASE NOTE: On Marathon Day, the Copley stop on the T's Green Line is closed. The nearest available T stops are Back Bay on the Orange Line and Hynes Convention Center on the Green Line. For more information, please visit the MBTA's Web site.
